Heejin Kim, Piano

Pianist Hee Jin Kim boasts an impressive résumé of concert performances, competitions, and academic achievements. Her success began early, taking first prize in a piano contest hosted by the Hanguk ilbo newspaper  Following this achievement, she went on to win many other competitionsbefore making her professional concert début in 1988 in the Young Artists Concert at the Aspen Music Festival.
Over the thirty years of performing that have followed this début, Hee Jin Kim has performed with a number of orchestras at major concert venues around the world. Ensembles that she has performed with to date include the
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra, Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra, Krakow Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Suwon Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, KBS Orchestra, Korea Baroque Chamber Orchestra, Manheim String Quartet
Hee Jin Kim has also performed at numerous venues in Korea, including the Seoul Arts Center and as well as concert halls around the world, including the Smetana Hall in Prague, the Liszt Hall in Weimar ,the Ehrbar Hall in Wien,the Musashino Hall in Tokyo, and Cadogan and Wigmore Halls in London.
In addition to Hee Jin Kim’s accolades as a performer, her academic achievements are equally impressive. With piano performance as a major in all of her studies, she holds a bachelor of arts degree from Seoul National University, a master of arts from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and a doctorate in music from Ewha Women’s University in Seoul. She currently holds the post of  professor at Sang Myung University in Seoul.
