Lin Han is a piano faculty member in the Inner Mongolia Arts University in China, and also a professional member of the European Piano Teachers Association in China Associates.
She began learning the piano at a young age and has studied under the guidance of various notable teachers, including Huang Zhifang from Inner Mongolia Arts University, Professor Bi Xuechun from Capital Normal University in Beijing. In 2012, she achieved Third Place in the 17th Hong Kong Asian Piano Open Competition. Subsequently, she was awarded Full Merit-scholarship to study with Professor Paul Ostrovsky in the United States, and earning a Master’s degree from the State University of New York – Purchase College in 2015.
During her time in the U.S., Lin Han collaborated with various on-campus ensembles, including the baroque chamber ensemble, contemporary music ensemble, and symphony orchestra. She also participated in renowned international music festivals and received guidance and recognition from esteemed pianists such as Joop Celis, Victor Rosenbaum, Maria del Pico Taylor, Lisa Yui, David Witten, Robert Roux, Robert Hamilton, Alexander Korsantia, Phillip Kawin, Vladimir Feltsman, Susan Starr, and Jeongwon Ham.
As an educator, she has taken part in the Dorothy Taubman Piano Performance Workshop and the Maria Garcia Piano Teacher Workshop in the United States. Since returning to China to teach, Lin Han’s students have won numerous awards, and she herself has received the Outstanding Guiding Teacher Award multiple times. For example, her nine-year-old student achieved a perfect score in the Grade 8 piano exam at the London College of Music Examinations in 2020.
Moreover, Lin Han is an active chamber musician who collaborates with various instruments including strings, brass, vocalists, Chinese instruments, and Mongolian national instruments. In 2017, she clinched the first prize in the piano ensemble category at the 8th Inner Mongolia Keyboard Competition. She is also a member of the Achttakt Tango ensemble at Inner Mongolia Arts University, which secured the first prize in the 6th Inner Mongolia Chamber Music Competition in 2018.
In addition, Lin Han has organized numerous public music concerts and lectures with a focus on promoting music education and engagement in the community. Recently, her research has shifted towards the relationship between live concert and mental health.
